The Moscow Finnish Comprehensive School

MSP (MFS) is a Finnish school in Moscow. Our school is private, and maintained by Finnish School association. Our pupils are mainly children of Finnish families working in different companies and Finnish Embassy. Language of instruction is Finnish. There are four full time teachers plus two on part time basis.

Number of pupils

On the lower and higher level of comprehensive school there are 36 pupils, of which bart is bilingual (Russian-Finnish). Most likely, there shall be about the same number of pupils also in next school year.

During the school year of 2007/2008 number of pupils has been per each classes, as followed: 0-2 classes 14 ; third – 4; fourth – 5; fifth – 6; sixth – 1; seventh – 3; eighth – 1 and the ninth class – two pupils.

Location of the School

Our school is located at Leninsky Prospect 78. Our school was moved to this address at the beginning of the school year 2003. The distance to the closest metro station is about two kilometers. They're several busses stopping not far from the school.

Space

Our school has about 660 sq. meters classroom space, as well as a sport field, playing field (skating rink in winter), inner sport hall, classroom for technical work and dining room. There are several computers available for pupils' own use. The same building is occupied by some other national schools: there is Swedish school at the first floor, second floor – Italian and the fourth/fifth floors is occupied by Japanese school. These schools organize common activities. Finnischool and Finnish kindergarten are occupying the third floor of the building.

School fee

The school fee for the whole school year is 5 000 euros.

The school is organizing daily hot meal, which is bought from Helsinki-house. The food is kind of Finnish cuisine. The price of meal, textbooks and other learning materials are included in the school year fee.

Health/medical services are provided by the Finnish Medical center located at the Finnish Embassy.
